OBIS STAFF DEVELOPMENT · ONLINE PROGRAMME
Building a culture of respect through the way school leaders and staff speak, listen, respond and follow through.
Adab in Action connects Islamic character with the everyday communication of a school. The programme helps participants protect dignity, make clear requests and respond firmly without becoming harsh.
Each online session combines reflection with practical school situations. Participants leave with one communication habit to practise during the week and bring their learning back to the next session.
“Professional communication is Islamic character made visible.”

Triggers, pausing and emotional control

Shared standards and team commitments
The opening session establishes a shared language for respectful words, clear expectations and calm delivery.
Correct a problem while protecting the other person’s dignity.
Describe what happened, explain what is needed and agree the next step.
Set clear expectations without personal judgement or a harsh tone.
Google Meet chat gives everyone a way to contribute. Guided scenarios help participants rewrite difficult sentences, and live role-play lets colleagues practise calm requests together.
Each session closes with a personal commitment for the working week. Participants reflect on the response and return with an anonymised example.
